What is Homeopathy and how does it work?
Homeopathy is a gentle, individualised system of medicine that treats the person as a whole, not just the diagnosis or symptoms. It takes into account your physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle, and health history to find the remedy that best matches you.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of "like cures like." In simple terms, a substance that can produce certain symptoms may, when prepared as a homeopathic remedy, help support someone experiencing a similar pattern of symptoms. For example, drinking too much coffee can leave you feeling wide awake, restless, and unable to sleep. In homeopathy, a remedy made from coffee (Coffea cruda) may be selected for someone experiencing a similar pattern of sleeplessness or mental overactivity, when it matches their overall symptom picture.
Homeopathic remedies are made from highly diluted natural substances, including plants, minerals, and other naturally occurring materials. Rather than prescribing for a diagnosis alone, the remedy is carefully selected to match the individual. This is why two people with the same condition may receive completely different remedies. The aim of homeopathy is to support your body's natural ability to restore balance. Because no two people experience illness in exactly the same way, every consultation, every prescription, and every treatment plan is tailored to you.
What to expect in a Consultation
A homeopathic consultation is a space to slow down, be heard, and explore your health journey as a whole. We’ll take the time to discuss your current concerns, physical symptoms, emotional wellbeing, lifestyle, health history, and the experiences that have shaped your journey.
Homeopathy looks beyond the symptom alone. I take the time to understand the unique patterns, sensitivities, and individual characteristics that make up your health picture, allowing me to create a personalised approach tailored to you.
